The text editor is very intuitive, think of it as a word document with AI embedded within it. It feels like Notion, but purposely built for studying.

The Studylab text editor is made up of 3 key ingredients, each with their own set of functionalities.

  1. Text Formatting

  2. Embeds

  3. AI Copilot

Text formatting

Headings

Two heading types to choose from, you can use them to create titles and a sub-titles.

Headings dictate each chapter in the , and all text between headings is the context for the review questions generated in that section.

Headings can be toggled to show or minimize the content in the editor, just highlight the heading and select the "toggle heading" option in the menu.

Lists

There are three list types available to help you organize your study guide. Bullet list, numbered list & toggle list

To add a list simply highlight the text you want listed and select the list type.

Formatting

Format text to get the look & feel that works best by highlighting text and choosing form the pop-up menu.

Embeds

Links

Add a link within text to anywhere in the web, just like a hyperlink. Highlight what you want to link and click on the link icon in the pop up menu.

Tables

Add & customize tables by clicking on the "+" icon on the left of the line block and select "table" from the menu.

Math & Block Equations

Add simple math equations by highlighting and selecting the "math" icon in the pop up to format to math notation.

For complex math, add a block equation by selecting it from the "+" icon on the left & inputing the equation in LaTeX.

Images

Add images by dragging and dropping them into the editor, you can also upload them from the "+" menu on the left. All images can be resized within the editor.

Files

Adding files is key when building a study guide to include additional support material. You can add files by selecting the "+" icon on the left or by adding an in-text link to a google sheet.

Web Bookmark

Add reference websites, articles or any link relevant to your study guide by adding a web bookmark from the "+" icon on the left.

Divider

Add a line divider within the study guide if you feel the need to separate different parts. You can also do this from the "+" icon on the left.

AI Copilot

The embedded AI Copilot is a game changer. Simply highlight any piece of text and click on the AI Copilot icon in the pop up menu, from there, select any of the options to get the AI working for you to enhance your knowledge.

When you select one of the above options, a blue box will appear within text with your AI answer. You can expand the answer, accept it to include it to your study guide or delete it.
